It’s no stretch to say that coffee in the UK has changed A LOT over the last two decades.
Back in the day, the best you could get was a stir-in instant and a polystyrene cup, and now we’re expecting freshly ground espresso wherever we go.
And as you’d expect, here at Allied Drinks, we’re big fans of the coffee revolution.
But when does it all go too far?
McDonalds have already had a pop at the artisan coffee movement (https://lnkd.in/dsFp5pM), while Londoners will be familiar with the frankly bizarre notion of serving a coffee inside a hollowed out avocado, which might be sustainable, but is also, just plain odd.
We’re going coffee crazy, and in the process, some establishments seem to be moving away from the whole point of the drink – a great tasting beverage that keeps you alert.
And last week, I saw the biggest curveball of all – the Organic Deli Café in Oxford is serving a CBD oil shot with their coffee - https://lnkd.in/dmbbmgW
So, what do you think?
A sensible hybrid of a popular drink and an oil that’s all the rage, or a step too far?
