Why Not Try Birchall’s Loose Leaf Tea

Along with our popular tea bags, we also offer a wide range of Birchall’s loose leaf tea. Loose leaf tea is often considered to have a fresher, stronger taste than tea in sealed bags. You can measure out the exact amount you want to customise the strength and taste of each cup.

Our loose leaf tea range from Birchall includes blends such as Virunga Earl Grey, Chai, Darjeeling and more. You can also buy the classic Great Rift Breakfast Blend, which is a favourite among many customers.

The recommended brewing temperature for Birchall loose leaf tea is 100°C. Leave the leaves to brew for around 2 minutes and serve with or without milk (depending on the type of tea and personal preference). Use filtered water for the best results and an infuser or filter to help you prepare the tea.

Birchall Tea FAQs

What types of tea does Birchall offer? +

You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to the Birchall range of tea. From enveloped tea bags to loose leaf tea and varying pack sizes, you can offer your customers the very best in hot beverages. Birchall’s tea comes in a wide range of flavours and blends. From Green Tea and the English Breakfast Tea to Lemongrass & Ginger and Peach Green Tea, there’s something to suit everyone’s taste buds.

What makes Birchall tea sustainable? +

Birchall is committed to sustainability. Their teas are produced in the UK’s first solar-powered tea factory, which generates more energy than it consumes. Many of Birchall’s products are also certified by Fair Trade and the Rainforest Alliance. When you buy Birchall tea, you’re not only buying great tasting tea, but you’re also helping the environment. We also stock a range of disposables, such as compostable sip-thru lids, paper cups and cup carriers. These accessories will help reduce your company’s carbon footprint while still providing your customers with great flavour.

How should I store Birchall tea? +

To maintain freshness, it’s a good idea to store Birchall tea in a cool, dry place. The tea should be kept away from direct sunlight and moisture. Airtight containers are recommended for long-term storage. While out of date tea isn’t dangerous to consume, it can taste stale and lose its flavour, so make sure to keep an eye on expiration dates.

What kind of packaging does Birchall tea come in? +

Birchall’s tea bags are made from plant-based materials. They are plastic-free and can be industrially composted. Many of the tea bags can break down in 12 weeks when disposed of. Not only are Birchall tea bags delicious and great value, but they’re also environmentally friendly!

Are Birchall teas ethically sourced? +

Yes! Birchall works closely with tea estates in East Africa to ensure that their sourcing practices are ethical and that workers are treated fairly. The majority of Birchall’s black teas (including Great Rift and Virunga) carry the Rainforest Alliance seal. This means that the teas are grown in a way that is environmentally friendly and helps protect workers and their families.
